Gods and Pantheons

The Gods of The Known World are more objects of worship, than beings in their own right. Withdrawn from the world, they act through agents of their will – these can be followers and priesthoods or they can be Angels and Demons. The following list is by no means comprehensive. Primitive societies around the Known World may worship their own god, but most often these are no more than a product of their imaginations or at best (or worst) a Spirit, Elemental or some Outsider of limited capacity. The deities of the Known World are:

Thenos, a god of Light worshipped mainly in Thenares. His is a monotheistic faith, claiming credit for the creation of the Known World. The Pope of Thenos, Paedrar Deosal, resides in the White Cathedral in Thenos’ Blessing. He is a stern man, having risen to supremacy through the Ranks of the Holy Inquisition.

Hoggor, a god of Darkness, commonly known as The Lurker beneath the Waves. He is feared by all, and many cults exist in his name. Many non-human races worship him, and it is whispered that the real clergy of Hoggor consists of true monsters.

The Triumvirate, three gods of Light, worshipped mainly in the Caliphate of Ashmelech. Their names are: Lydaeus, Enomelech and Adomelech. The leader of the church is called High Imam Rakeem Iblis and resides in the Black Mosque. The clergy of the Triumvirate has recently come in opposition to the church of Thenos.
